Talat Q. Alvi, MD, attended Allama Iqbal Med College in Punjab, Pakistan, and was awarded his medical degree in 1988. Upon relocating to the United States, he served his internship at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, and conducted his neurology residency at Howard University College of Medicine/Howard University Hospital. In addition, he is fellowship trained in pain medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and fellowship trained in neuromuscular medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Alvi further received board certification in neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations, such as the American Academy of Neurology. In 2007, he was honored with the National Resident Scholars Program Award and in 2008 with the American Academy of Neurology Award.
