Dr. Alvi graduated from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan in 1988 with his Medical Degree, giving him over three decades of experience in his field. After relocating to the United States he completed his internship with the MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, followed by a psychiatry and neurology residency at Howard University. Wanting to further his training then then completed a Pain Medicine fellowship at Washington Hospital Center and a Neuromuscular Medicine fellowship at Yale University. Talat Q. Alvi, MD, attended Allama Iqbal Med College in Punjab, Pakistan, and was awarded his medical degree in 1988. Upon relocating to the United States, he served his internship at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, and conducted his neurology residency at Howard University College of Medicine/Howard University Hospital. In addition, he is fellowship trained in pain medicine at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, and fellowship trained in neuromuscular medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Alvi further received board certification in neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations, such as the American Academy of Neurology.
